Waukon High School to perform "Anything Goes!" November 6-8

Waukon High School will be performing the Tony Award-winning musical production "Anything Goes" Thursday, November 6, Friday, November 7 and Saturday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Waukon High School auditorium. This year, the musical is directed by Sarah Schacherer with assistance from Bryce Muenchow.
With music and lyrics by Cole Porter, the musical is based on a book by Guy Bolton, P.G. Wodehouse, Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. Romance is in the air on the ocean liner S.S. American, leaving New York City and heading to London - but it's far from smooth sailing. Its passengers include stow-away Billy Crocker (played by Waukon High School sophomore Adam Gruman), a man in love with Hope Harcourt (junior Leah Reise), who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh (sophomore Matt Hoins). Billy’s friends, singer/evangelist Reno Sweeney (senior Sarah Gruman) and gangster Moon Face Martin (sophomore Dolan Jones), help him try to win Hope back. The show is packed with such Cole Porter songs as "Anything Goes," "You're the Top," “I Get a Kick Out of You”, "Friendship," and "It's De-Lovely."
Tickets for any of the performances are available for purchase in advance by contacting Brenda Dougherty at 563-568-7997 or at waukonmusical@live.com.
