Kee boys basketball team returns lone letterwinner for 2014-2015

The Kee boys basketball program will have a collection of 20 young men to choose from for its 2014-2015 season, but only one of those players will bring back varsity letterwinning experience from last season’s team that posted a 3-18 season record. Senior Dylon Peterson will be the lone returning varsity veteran this year, but brings with him multiple years of letterwinning experience in addition to team leadership numbers in scoring and three-point field goals while also ranking second on last year’s team in steals, blocked shots and assists on his way to receiving All-Conference Honorable Mention.

“Inexperience at the varsity level could be an early season weakness, but I expect our guard play, led by Peterson, to be a strength.” Kee boys basketball coach Pat Wagner said. “Growing as a team and being competitive night in and night out, not only on game night, but at practice, that is one of my biggest goals. Several sophomores and freshmen will be competing to fill out the varsity roster and could play important roles in game situations.”

Coach Wagner says three additional seniors, Hunter Otto, Marquise Phillips and Andrew Weber will be looked to “to play significant roles on this year’s squad.” He also mentioned junior Nate Wood and sophomores Daniel Brennan and Clay Olson as being anticipated contributors during a season where all team members will be expected to chip in.
