Waukon volleyball team falls at home in straight sets to Class 4A 11th-rated Waverly-Shell Rock

The Waukon volleyball team had just a single match on its schedule this week, but that would be a big enough load to carry as Class 4A 11th-rated Waverly-Shell Rock came to town Tuesday, September 22. The perennial power Go-Hawks proved to be more than enough for the Indian netters, handing Waukon a three-set sweep by scores of 12-25, 14-25 and 13-25.
Holding a 5-11 season record, 0-3 in Northeast Iowa Conference play, the Indians were next scheduled to host MFL/MarMac Monday, September 28 in a match rescheduled from September 8 before traveling to New Hampton Tuesday, September 29. Waukon will then play in the Waterloo Columbus Tournament Saturday, October 3 before hosting its final home match of the season Tuesday, October 6 against Class 4A seventh-rated Charles City.
