Wayne King

Wayne B. King, 68, of Minneapolis, MN, formerly of Waukon, died Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Bryn Mawr Health Care Center in Minneapolis, MN. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 9 at 11 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon with Pastor Samantha Houser officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call one hour before services at the church Thursday. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is assisting the family with arrangements.

Wayne Bernard King was born April 30, 1950 in Waukon, the son of Bernard and Arlene (Hansmeier) King. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon and graduated from Waukon High School in 1968. Wayne attended Mankato Commercial College, where he received a diploma in senior business administration in 1970, and he also received a Bachelor of Science degree from Mankato State University in 1983, both in Mankato, MN. Wayne worked for Winnebago Industries in Forest City delivering RVs throughout the United States and Canada. He then went to work for Kraft Foods in Minneapolis, MN before he went to work for the Minneapolis Airport driving taxi. Wayne then started his own taxi service in the Minneapolis, MN area. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, classic cars, and was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins fan.

Survivors include a son, Andrew King of Decorah; his mother, Arlene King of Waukon; and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Bernard.
