Cindy Miller

Cindy Sue Miller, 65, of Cedar Rapids died from a sudden illness Saturday, November 17, 2018 amidst loving family at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 25 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids, where there will be a visitation after 11 a.m. Rev. Leonard Ranson will officiate. Interment services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 26 at the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon.

Cindy is survived by her parents, Lorna and George Miller of Ely; her brother, Terry Miller, and his wife, Yong Mi, of Ely; her daughter, Dawn Roth, and her husband, Ed Roth, of Marion; her son, Joseph Schroeder, and his partner, Elizabeth Bertling, of Cedar Rapids; her daughter, Andrea Rhoades, and her husband, William, of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several others that she loved as grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clarence and Delaney Bloxham and Frank and Eunice Miller.

Cindy was born September 26, 1953 to George and Lorna Miller in Waukon. She graduated in 1971 from Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids. Cindy worked for K-Mart in Cedar Rapids for approximately 20 years until the early 1990s. Cindy maintained friendships with many of her former co-workers. She also worked in the telecommunications department of Mercy Medical Center for 22 years and regarded her peers as second family. She was very active in Mercy-related holiday and public events.

Cindy was in awe of her parents and dearly loved her brother. She wanted the best for her children and doted on her grandchildren. Cindy was a devoted John Wayne fan, loved crafts, enjoyed music, movies and provided a loving home for many cats through the years.
