Wayne Jahnke

Wayne R. Jahnke died unexpectedly Monday, November 12, 2018 at his home in Spring Grove, MN at the age of 56. Memorial service was held Saturday, November 17 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, MN. Burial was in the Waterloo Ridge Cemetery in rural Dorchester.

Wayne was born August 5, 1962 in Postville to Ronald and Marilyn (Winke) Jahnke.  He graduated from Waukon High School. December 14, 1991 he was united in marriage to Michelle Tollefsrud at the Mabel First Lutheran Church in Mabel, MN.

Wayne farmed for a short time, then worked at Rush Products in Rushford, MN and then as a welder at Featherlite in Cresco and Mid-City Steel in La Crosse, WI. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, MN and enjoyed fishing, hunting and helping on the farm.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Michelle, of Spring Grove, MN; two daughters, Kerri of Onalaska, WI and Aryn (special friend Tyler Stortz) of Mabel, MN; his parents, Ronald and Marilyn Jahnke of Waukon; his brothers, Mark (special friend Jill Mullen) of Brownsville, MN, Darrell of Waukon, Gary (Susie) of Spring Grove, MN and Gregg (special friend Michelle Loken) of Houston, MN; his sister-in-law, Jenny Jahnke of Dorchester; several nieces and nephews; his mother- and father-in-law, Rodney and Linda Tollefsrud of Mabel, MN; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, David (Patsy) Tollefsrud of St. Joseph, MN, Terri (Brian) Miller of Saukville, WI and Paul (Sarah) Tollefsrud of Mabel, MN. Wayne was preceded in death by a brother, Lyle; and his grandparents, Lester and Gertrude Jahnke and Albert and Ida Winke.
