Allamakee County 4-H Council participates in Youth Leadership Retreat ...

The Experiential Learning Model emphasizes the use of life skills to learn content objectives. Through 4-H, this model emphasizes the importance of student involvement in the experiences or activities in each situation of the learning cycle. Students bring their own experiences and knowledge to that learning cycle. The 2019 Allamakee County 4-H Council Retreat was strategic on bringing the Experiential Learning Model to action with a focus on self-discovery, along with creating an understanding and application of working in a team. A total of 24 members of the Allamakee County 4-H Council worked to develop and enhance leadership skills, identified values and priorities for the council during the 2019-20 4-H year, created new friendships, worked to identify ideas for individual leadership projects and prioritized and finalized plans for the 2019 Allamakee County Fair at the overnight retreat held June 9-10 at a cabin in rural Lansing and facilitated by Morgan Bjerke, Allamakee County Youth Coordinator.
