Lamista Dahlstrom of Waukon and Dustin Moody of Harpers Ferry announce their engagement and upcoming wedding to take place Saturday, September 16 with an outdoor ceremony at the Bill Moody farm in Harpers Ferry. A reception will be held at the Waukon Banquet Center.

Parents of the bride-to-be are Bill and Roberta Tesar of McGregor and the late Gary Dahlstrom. The bride-to-be is currently a full-time student at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo majoring in Medical Administration with an anticipated Spring 2018 graduation date. She is a Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society member.

Parents of the groom-to-be are Mike and Jackie Moody of Harpers Ferry. The groom-to-be is employed at the Product Engineering Center in Cedar Falls as a Product Tester for John Deere. He also owns and operates  Driven Marine, a boat repair business in Sumner.

The couple is planning a honeymoon in December at Cancun, Mexico. They will be making their home in Sumner.

Ken and Karen Leppert of Lansing will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary September 10. The couple was married September 10, 1957 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Lansing.

They are the parents of six children, including Kimberly (Paul) Mauss of Onalaska, WI, Kristin (Terry) Heiderscheit of Rochester, MN, Kyle (Laura Colsch) Leppert of Onalaska, WI, Kathy (John) Reinhart of La Crosse, WI, Kari (John) Adank of Onalaska, WI and Kraig (Marcella Hogan) of Onalaska, WI.

They have 13 grandchildren, including Shane Mauss, Karissa (John) Wunsch, Justin (Ali) Mauss, Tessie (Kyle) Thomas, Luka (Todd) Jensen, Noel Heiderscheit, Lindsey (Marcus) Stefonek, Lacey (Alex) Wellsfry, Riley and Elle Reinhart, Whitney Weymiller, and Mason and Olivia Leppert. They also have eight great-grandchildren, including Landon and Madelyn Stefonek, Eve, Chael and Raylee Wellsfry, Winnie Thomas, Leonard Jensen and Kimora Heiderscheit.

Richard and Joan Leiran of Waukon will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple was married August 11, 1957  and plans to celebrate with extended family in mid-September.  They have two children, Chris (Roger) Wise of Ames and Carrie of Des Moines.  Cards of congratulations, along with memories and funny stories, will reach the couple at 896 Cooks Road, Waukon, IA, 52172.
 

The Waukon High School Class of 1947 reunion will be held Saturday, September 9 at 12 p.m. at Gus & Tony’s in Waukon. All classmates are invited and encouraged to attend.

The annual reunion of the descendants of Edwin and Matilda (Pechia) Livingood, parents of Estella Moose, will be held at the Farm Bureau Building in Waukon September 10. The meal will start at 12 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass for the potluck and table service. Beverages will be furnished.

The 87th Jarchow family reunion will be held Sunday, September 10 at the Methodist Church in Hawkeye, one block north of the bank. A potluck is scheduled for 12 p.m. followed by a meeting and then time for family stories and visiting.

Craig and Chelsea Rodas of Farmersburg announce the birth of their son, McCoy Alvin Rodas, born August 23, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs. 5 ozs. and measured 20-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Grandparents are Kevin and Teri Welsh of Waukon, the late Alvin Rodas and Theresa Rodas of McGregor. Great-grandparents are Mary Fink and Sarah Welsh, both of Waukon, Jeanie Rodas of Elkader, and Don and Shirley Marmann of Farmersburg.
 

Steve and Sheryl Paul of Waukon will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary September 2. The couple plans to celebrate the occasion with a family party.

Roger and Rita (Duffy) Byrnes of Waukon will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple was married September 2, 1967 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dorchester.

They are the parents of Lorne (Kari) of Moorhead, MN, Lyle of Waukon, Lewis (Janette) of Waukon, Ruth (John) of Spillville, Lee (Renee) of Cedar Rapids and Lonnie of Waukon. Their grandchildren include Payton, Ryder, Ethan and Keaton Byrnes, Cassidy, Gabriel and Garrison Byrnes, Mason and Payton Cox, and Grace and Oliver Byrnes.

A celebration hosted by their children is scheduled for Saturday, September 2 from 1-4 p.m. at the Waukon City Club Party Room.
