Allamakee Ecumenical Choir and Children's Choir to begin rehearsals October 20 for Christmas Festival

The Allamakee Ecumenical Choir will begin weekly rehearsals Sunday, October 20 at 7 p.m. in the balcony of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waukon. Now in its 37th season, the Choir will prepare for a Christmas Festival of Lessons and Carols Service scheduled for Sunday, December 15 at 7 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon. Anyone in the community who would like to sing and participate is welcome to attend rehearsals and join in the festivities.
Area clergy will read the Christmas Story and musical selections will be presented by the Ecumenical Choir, children’s choir, and handbell choirs directed by James Bieber, Director of Music at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Waukon. Traditional carols will be sung by the choirs and congregation with festive accompaniments by organ and brass choir.
The Ecumenical Children’s Choir will also begin weekly rehearsals Thursday, October 24 from 3:20 to 4:15 p.m. in the balcony of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
