Allamakee Ecumenical Choir and Children's Choir to begin rehearsals in preparation for 33rd Christmas Concert

The Allamakee Ecumenical Choir will begin weekly rehearsals Wednesday evening, October 21 at 9 p.m. in the balcony of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waukon. Now in its 33rd season, the Choir will prepare for a Christmas Festival Service scheduled for Sunday, December 13 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Waukon. Anyone in the community who would like to sing and participate is welcome to attend rehearsals and join in the festivities.
The Choir will present a Festival of Lessons and Carols patterned after a similar service performed annually by the Kings College Chapel Choir in Cambridge, England. Area clergy will read the Christmas Story and musical selections will be presented by the Ecumenical Choir, children’s choir, and handbell choirs directed by James Bieber, Director of Music at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Traditional carols will be sung by choir and congregation with festive accompaniments by organ and brass choir.
The Ecumenical Children’s Choir will also begin weekly rehearsals Thursday, October 22 from 3:30-4:15 p.m. in the balcony of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
