Area accidents reported by the Iowa State Patrol

Thomas Edwin Huinker of Fort Atkinson, age 70, and Gary Milo Aller of Ossian, age 26, were involved in a two-vehicle accident Saturday, September 19 at the intersection of Old Stage Road (County Road W-60) and Old Highway 9 (County Road A-52) at approximately 8:05 p.m.
According to a report filed by the Iowa State Patrol, Huinker was traveling south on Old Stage Road when he stopped at its intersection with Old Highway 9. Huinker then proceeded south, failing to yield to Aller, who was traveling east on Old Highway 9. Aller’s vehicle collided with the trailer being towed by Huinker’s vehicle. Neither Huinker nor Aller were injured, but 29-year-old Jessica Lynn Dundee, a passenger in Aller’s vehicle, was transported by ambulance to Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon.
Huinker was charged with failure to yield after a stop.

Gregory Chad Pecore, age 32, of De Soto, WI escaped injury when he was involved in a single-vehicle accident Thursday, October 1 at around 5 p.m. According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, Pecore was traveling north on Highway 76 near Moody Ridge Road in the Harpers Ferry area when his car hit an area of standing water in the rainy weather conditions and began to hydroplane, sending the vehicle into the east ditch and through a fence before coming to rest in a pasture at 477 Highway 76.
Damage to Pecore’s vehicle was estimated at $8,000; damage to the fence owned by TJ's Fencing of Harpers Ferry was estimated at $500.
