Entry deadline for Waukon Chamber of Commerce Holiday Window Decorating Contest is November 18

This year the Waukon Chamber of Commerce will host its ‘First Annual Window Decorating Contest’ for the businesses of Waukon. It is asked that businesses stay in the context of a holiday theme and this year’s parade theme “Walking in a Winter Wonderland.”
Businesses who want to participate and have their window(s) “judged” in the contest are asked to notify the Waukon Chamber of Commerce at 563-568-4110 or at waukoncc@mchsi.com by Monday, November 18. The windows will be judged Monday, November 25 following the annual Holiday Parade.
The judging parameters include scoring points for Creativity, Originality and Appearance. The winner will be announced in the Waukon Chamber of Commerce newsletter and within its online mediums. There will also be a prize awarded to this year’s winner.
"This approach engages families in the downtown business district, generates positive publicity for the town, and promotes a festive holiday spirit while promoting art and community participation," said Waukon Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Stephanie Dugan. "It also fosters the small-town feeling we strive for."
