LC Signs and Graphics establishes itself in Waukon, surrounding area

LC Signs and Graphics opened for business just west of Waukon on Highway 76 in January. Owner Lori Cahoon, who has worked in the sign industry for 10 years, says she decided to open her own business to be closer to home, her husband of five years, Blair, and their children, Connor (3) and Caden (18 months).
Cahoon says that after finding no job opportunities in the sign-making industry in the Waukon area, where she has lived her entire life, she decided it was time to open her own business. “I saw a need for a sign business in this area that could offer a quality product and great service at a very reasonable price,” Cahoon said.
LC Signs and Graphics offers free estimates and proofs, which are computer-generated pictures of what the finished product will look like. “This allows you to be involved and make changes in the look of your sign or lettering,” Cahoon says. “For example, for truck lettering, I can make a digitally-enhanced photo of the lettering on your truck before beginning the project.”

Establishing a clientele and spreading the word about her new business have proved challenging for Cahoon, but she is very proud to have taken the big step of opening her own business. She also enjoys being close to home and being able to spend more time with her family.
In the future, Cahoon hopes to expand her business by offering more products. She also hopes to move into a larger facility where she will have more space than her current home office.
LC Signs and Graphics is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 563-794-0503 any time.
