Maske announces candidacy for 4th District House Seat

Bill Maske announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Iowa’s 4th District Congressional seat during his visit to Waukon December 17. He is running for the seat currently held by U.S. Rep. Tom Latham.
Maske is married and has four children and five grandchildren. He is a lifelong educator and is stepping down from his position as superintendent of the Interstate 35 School District in Truro to devote his time to pursue the Congressional seat.
Maske discussed issues such as affordable healthcare, hate crime prevention, children’s health insurance, equal pay for equal work, credit card holders’ bill of rights, veterans’ benefits and more. He sees the great challenges facing the nation particularly the economic downturn which he says is “largely due to corporate greed” while citing how CEOs of 10 banks received a salary totaling 300 million dollars. Maske’s solution is for the United State Government to institute oversight and strict regulations to protect society from corporate greed.
Maske pledged, “As your congressman, I will work hard to see that programs are implemented that open doors of prosperity to working America. I will be relentless in the pursuit of new opportunities for you and your children. It is the hard working men and women of this nation who need a strong voice in government, and my voice will be unwavering in the pursuit of social and economic justice for you.”
