The Historical Committee of the Minnesota Society of Professional Surveyors, along with the County Engineer Offices of Houston County, MN and Allamakee County and others, will be hosting an historical dedication ceremony Saturday, September 11 at the site of the Original Post set in 1852 at the Initial Point of the Iowa-Minnesota Boundary Survey. The public is invited to the event, which will begin at 10:30 that Saturday morning at the Picnic Shelter at the Allamakee County Conservation Board Wayside Rest Area located on Iowa Highway 26 at the north edge of New Albin.
