Cub Scouts to collect donations this Saturday

Cub Scout Pack 64 of Waukon will be at Fareway and Quillin's in Waukon this Saturday, February 22 from 9-11 a.m. Members of the Pack will be collecting food and monetary donations for the Allamakee County Food Shelf, Relief Office and Northeast Iowa Community Action.

Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation receives funds through America's Farmers Grow Communities

Harpers Ferry farmer Phillip Dehli has directed a $2,500 donation to the Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation through the America’s Farmers Grow Communities program. The donation will help the Foundation purchase defibrillators for Allamakee County law enforcement vehicles and the emergency department at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon.

Main Feature Theater taking steps to become a community resource

Main Feature Theater on Main Street in Waukon has announced a series of changes that will facilitate the theater becoming the community resource it hopes to be. Sunday, February 3, Iron Ridge Church, owner of the theater, announced that changes are now underway that will not only allow Main Feature to serve the community and its customers even better but will also allow the theater to offer a wider array of services to the community.

Waukon to be part of Reading Road Trip Tour

Iowa Public Television has announced the network will embark on another tour of Iowa libraries during the eighth annual summer Reading Road Trip, with Robey Memorial Library in Waukon once again being part of that tour. Dan Wardell, popular host of the IPTV KIDS Clubhouse, will welcome kids and families in communities across Iowa throughout the summer.

Local dentists offer free dental care during "Have a Heart" Day scheduled for February 8

For 24 years in a row the doctors and staff of Waukon Dental, Dental Associates of Decorah, P.C., Family Dentistry Associates of Monona, and Dental Associates of Prairie du Chien (celebrating 20 years) have hosted their “Have a Heart” Day. Area residents are encouraged to participate in the annual “Have a Heart” Day scheduled by area health care providers for Saturday, February 8.
