Jacob Sadler

Jacob Z. Sadler, 48, of Waukon died Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon, following a lifelong battle with myotonic dystrophy. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 2 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with Fr. Jim Dubert and Deacon Mike Ward officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Monona. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 1 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, where there will be a 3:45 p.m. scripture service and a 7:30 p.m. rosary.
Jacob Zachary Sadler was born May 1, 1966 in Waterloo, the son of William and Rosella (Nie) Sadler. He was confirmed at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Monona. Jacob attended River Hills School in Cedar Falls, Abner Hendrickson School in Decorah, and one year at Decorah High School, where he received a certificate of attendance. For 28 years he did training at the TASC Skill Building Center in Waukon.
Jacob was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Iowa Hawkeyes. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia. He also liked playing cards, collecting hats, watching old TV shows, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include four sisters, Diane (Mike Engelhardt) Sadler of Decorah, Linda (Steve) Meyer of Westby, WI, Annette (Mark) Kunert of De Soto, WI and Kim (Vern) Timmerman of Lansing; eight nieces and nephews; and five great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Sadler; and a brother, Leo Sadler.
Honorary casketbearers are Curt Bucknell, Paul Howes and Jacob's friends at TASC. Casketbearers are Mike and Toby Engelhardt, Steve and Brice Meyer, Vern and Kai Timmerman, and Mark and Keith Kunert.
