REMINDERS
May 15-August 2, 2016: Nesting season on CRP ground. Please contact the county office before you do anything in regards to noxious weeds etc.
May 30, 2016 - Closed Memorial Day.
May 31, 2016 - Last day to obtain a commodity, nine month loan for 2015 for corn, soybeans etc.

CRP Reminders
1. CRP producers who have buffer strips, waterways, etc. in fields where the rest of the land can be cropped, you should review the CRP acres to make sure the size requirement is the same or if there is some encroaching happening.
If you rent the cropland out, sit down with your renter to make sure they understand the CRP regulations, number of acres under contract, and if there were to be a violation the penalty will be assessed to the participants who signed the CRP contract. As the landowner on the CRP contract, it is your responsibility to make sure the CRP acres are incompliance.
2. For CRP producers who will need to conduct Mid-Contract Management activity, the deadline is May 14, 2016. If there is a situation where this cannot be completed by this date, please call the county office as soon as possible. Example: Seed is not available.

Commodity Loan Rates for 2016 for Allamakee County Price Support Loans
Corn - $ 1.87
Grain Sorghum - $ 3.23
Soybeans - $ 4.99
Barley - $ 1.70
Oats - $ 1.43
These rates will go into effect once you start harvest. Contact the county office if you have any questions.

2016 ARC/PLC Program Sign-up
The county office is conducting the 2016 ARC/PLC applications at this time. If you happen to be in Waukon, stop in or call ahead. The sign-up deadline is August 1, 2016. If you have any questions, please contact the office at 563-568-2148.
