Vivian Khan, a seventh grade student at Waukon Middle School and the daughter of Gary and Peggy Khan of Waukon, was selected for participation in the 31st annual Opus Honor Choir Festival. Selections were made by means of a recorded audition, and singers were judged on musicianship, tone quality, intonation and rhythm. Over 3,000 students from around Iowa auditioned for this honor. The 2016 Opus Honor Choir performed November 17 in C.Y. Stephens Auditorium in the Iowa State Center in Ames, conducted by Sarah Bouska of Mason City High School. The Opus Honor Choir Festival is made possible by the Iowa Choral Directors Association, Inc. Submitted photo.
