The Waukon boys basketball continued its early-season roll with another pair of sizable victories this past week, both of them at home. The Indians opened this past week with a recent team-scoring high of 91 points in a 91-44 home beat-down of Sumner-Fredericksburg Monday, December 4 before opening Northeast Iowa Conference play with a 65-45 home victory over Oelwein Friday, December 8 to post a 3-0 start to this season.
The Indians were next slated to hit the road for a pair of Northeast Iowa Conference contests, at Crestwood Tuesday, December 12 and at Waverly-Shell Rock, Friday, December 15 in a rare girl-boy doubleheader for Waukon basketball. The Indians will then wrap up the 2017 portion of this season’s schedule with a final pre-holiday game at home against Decorah Thursday, December 21. The basketball Tribe will return to action with a pair of back-to-back road contests after the holidays, at Charles City Friday, January 5 and against Wapsie Valley at Wartburg College in Waverly Saturday, January 6 before also playing at North Fayette Valley Monday, January 8.
