Extra help may be available for Medicare costs through NEIA3

Medicare recipients with limited income and assets may qualify for money-saving programs called Extra Help and Medicare Savings Program through Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging (NEIA3). Through these programs, additional help may be available to assist with the cost of premiums, coverage gaps, co-pays and annual deductibles. Individuals may also qualify for other forms of financial assistance such as food assistance, rental assistance or a form of Medicaid.

For more information or assistance with Medicare Extra Help, Rent Rebates, or Food Assistance attend one of the enrollment events coming up in the local area or call LifeLong Links at 866-468-7887 to schedule an appointment. The enrollment events are scheduled at the following locations, dates and times:

• Waterloo: Wednesdays, February 7 through March 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NEI3A, 2101 Kimball Avenue in the First Floor LifeLong Links Office.
• Oelwein: January 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Oelwein Senior Center, 25 West Charles Street.
• Decorah: February 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the LifeLong Links Center, 607 Washington Street.
• New Hampton: February 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the New Hampton Event Center, 301 North Water Street.
• Cresco: February 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kessel Lodge, 268 Seventh Avenue West.
• Guttenberg: February 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Guttenberg Hospital, 200 Main Street.
• Waukon: February 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Waukon Wellness Center, 1220 Third Avenue NW, Suite 101.
• Grundy Center: February 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Grundy County Senior Center, 705 F Avenue.
• Iowa Falls: February 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Iowa Falls Senior Center, 218 South River Street.
• Tama: February 20 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Tama Senior Center, 900 East Fifth Street.
• Marshalltown: February 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Marshalltown Senior Center, 20½ East State Street.
• Grinnell: February 27 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Grinnell Senior Center, 925 East Street.
