Janet Reinhardt

Janet E. Reinhardt, 65, of Waukon died Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at her home. Memorial services were held Monday, May 21 at Old West Paint Creek Lutheran Church in rural Waukon, with Pastor Ken Kimball officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Janet Elaine Reinhardt was born July 23, 1952 in Waukon, the daughter of Paul and Coral (Moose) Klees. She was baptized and confirmed at Volney Methodist Church in rural Monona and graduated from Waukon High School in 1970. Janet worked for Equity Co-op for a few years.

December 9, 1972, she married William Reinhardt at Volney Methodist Church. They farmed together for a few years and she also worked at Northern Engraving in Waukon until it closed in 2008. Janet then went to work for Northern Engraving in Sparta, WI until she retired in 2016.

Janet was a member of Old West Paint Creek Lutheran Church, where she was active in Rachel circle, taught Sunday School, and was involved with the annual meatball supper, serving and making the mashed potatoes. She enjoyed working on the farm and in her big vegetable garden, canning, hunting, cutting wood, and bonfires. Janet also enjoyed spending time with her family, watching the birds in the bird feeders, and studying family genealogy.

Survivors include William, her husband of 45 years, of Waukon; her children: Fred (Jennifer) Reinhardt of Waukon and Betsy (Joe) Wolf of Burlington; four grandchildren: Miranda and Landon Reinhardt and Kylie and Caroline Wolf; four sisters: her twin, Janice Shogren of Waukon, Nancy (John) Bakula of Fort Atkinson, Susan (John) Balik of Protivin and Linda Lou (Phil) Heeler of Savannah, MO; and one brother, Kermit (Ann) Klees of Waterville. She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Samuel Klees; two sisters, Sandra McKee and Dixie (Albert) Keenan; a brother, Daniel Klees; a brother-in-law, Vernon Shogren; and a nephew, Joe McKee.
