The Kee baseball team played to a nearly perfect week on the diamond, opening its Upper Iowa Conference schedule with final result perfection in winning four of five games this past week. That initial Upper Iowa Conference sweep came at home against MFL/MarMac by scores of 6-0 and 6-3 Tuesday, May 28 before the Hawks ventured on an overnight road trip that began at AGWSR with a 6-1 victory Friday, May 31. That road trip wrapped up in Newell-Fonda Saturday, June 1, where the Kee baseball boys took on two other teams that had just one loss so far on this young season. The Hawks first fell to Kingsley-Pierson, 10-0 in five innings, before bouncing back with a 9-8 win over the host Newell-Fonda squad.
Holding a 7-2 season record that includes a 2-0 start to the Upper Iowa Conference season, the Hawks were next scheduled to play an Upper Iowa Conference doubleheader Monday, June 3 at Clayton Ridge before playing both Charles City and St. Ansgar at St. Ansgar Saturday, June 8. The Kee baseballers are then slated to play a pair of road doubleheaders the following week against a pair of top 10-rated squads, traveling to Class 2A third-rated Cascade Tuesday, June 11 before doing likewise in a road trip at Class 1A eighth-rated South Winneshiek Thursday, June 13.
