Waukon baseball team snaps double-digit stretch outside the win column with 10-0 home victory over Turkey Valley in middle of five-game week

The Waukon baseball team brought an end to a recent 11-game slide with a win in the middle of a five-game schedule this past week, posting a 10-0 mercy-rule win in six innings over Turkey Valley Wednesday, June 5. On each side of that win, the baseball Tribe suffered a 6-0 loss at Sumner-Fredericksburg Monday, June 3 and a 14-4 defeat in six innings to Oelwein at home Tuesday, June 4 before being swept in a Northeast Iowa Conference doubleheader at Decorah Friday, June 7 by scores of 13-3 in five innings and 15-0 in four frames.

Now holding a 2-13 season record, including a 0-8 start in Northeast Iowa Conference (NEIC) play, the Indians were next scheduled to play at Clayton Ridge Tuesday, June 11 before returning home to host Crestwood for a Northeast Iowa Conference doubleheader Wednesday, June 12, Osage Thursday, June 13 and Charles City Friday, June 14. The baseball Tribe will then travel to Waverly-Shell Rock Monday, June 17 and to Oelwein Wednesday, June 19 for a NEIC doubleheader before returning home to play Decorah Friday, June 21 and then host its own Jeff Houg Tournament Saturday, June 22.
