Tony Vick

Tony Vick, age 51, of Ridgeway passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI after a long battle with cancer. A Celebration of the Life and Memory of Tony Vick was held Thursday, October 3 at Decorah Lutheran Church in Decorah with Rev. Bryan Robertson and Rev. James Glesne officiating.

Tony Allen Vick was born January 20, 1968, the son of Darrell Vick and Rose (Rasmussen) Beardmore, in Decorah. He graduated from Waukon High School in 1987. Tony attended Iowa State University for one year before leaving school to start his career. He worked for Foremost Farms in Decorah until their closing and for the last ten years has worked for Homeland Energy Solutions where he was most recently a training coordinator.

Tony married Stephanie Blake September 20, 2003 and together they have two children, Chase and Taylor.  Tony enjoyed sports, but especially football and racing.  He was a lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He did some racing himself but really enjoyed watching his children race go-carts and all of their other activities.

Tony was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church.  Tony was known for his infectious smile, he always had a smile for everyone no matter how he was feeling.

Tony is survived by his wife, Stephanie; their children, Chase and Taylor; his father, Darrell Vick of Decorah; his mother, Rose (Kenny) Beardmore of Waukon; his brothers, Brett (Kelly) Vick of Mt. Pleasant, WI and Darren (Destyn) Vick of Decorah; his father- and mother-in-law, Pat (Sandy) Blake of Dorchester; his brothers-in-law, Pat (Michelle) Blake of Webster City and Shawn (Sara) Blake of Manchester; a sister-in-law, Alison (Brandon) Blake of Decorah; his nieces and nephews, Alyce and Landon Vick, and Brock, Abby, Luke, Jude and Olivia Blake; and a grandmother, Margaret Blake. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Grace Rasmussen, Calvin and Thelma Beardmore, and Norman and Mildred Vick.

Casketbearers were Pat Blake, Shawn Blake, Erik Wedo, Darren Vick, Brett Vick, Eric Larson, Neil Thesing, Gerry Henning and Brandon Blake. Schluter-Balik Funeral Home of Decorah assisted the family with arrangements.
