Lansing City Council hears update from ambulance service and its need for more EMTs

by Alexis Johnson

The Lansing City Council meeting was held Monday, October 21. The discussion at the meeting centered around the consent agenda, an ambulance update, and a street report.

The consent agenda consisted of council meeting minutes from October 7, Milty’s liquor license renewal, Utility Reconciliation Report for September, transfer of funds from savings to general checking to cover splash pad expenses, and Safe House Saloon liquor license renewal. A motion was made and seconded to approve the consent agenda.

The ambulance service in Lansing is looking for EMTs and drivers to help cover the day shift. A class is coming up in January in Waukon to become certified to be an EMT and anyone who may be interested in taking the class is encouraged to contact anyone on the Lansing Ambulance Service or call Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon at 563-568-3411.

Public restrooms throughout the city will be shut down for the upcoming fall/winter season.
