Debra Darling

Debra K. Darling, 59, of Waukon died peacefully from complications of multiple sclerosis with her brother, Doug, and his wife, Karen, by her side Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 at the Community Center in New Albin. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is handling arrangements.

Debra Katherine Darling was born November 11, 1960 in La Crosse, WI, the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Meyer) Darling. She grew up in New Albin and graduated from Kee High School; she then attended Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI. For many years, Deb worked at Northern Engraving in Lansing, where she met Paul Moritz and they were together for close to 30 years.

Deb loved spending time with her beloved dog, Lady. She also enjoyed being outdoors and going sightseeing. Deb liked shopping, playing bingo and the color pink. She possessed a quick wit and a great sense of humor.

She is survived by her siblings: Daria Darling of New Albin, Douglas (Karen) Darling of New Albin and Dina (Tommy Kennedy) Spieker of Birmingham, AL; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Deb was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Daniel Darling; and her longtime partner, Paul Moritz.
