Keith LeRoy Roffman, 81, of Postville died July 26, 2020 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of memorials and flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Cards and condolences can be sent to Dorothy Roffman, 885 Smithfield Drive, Postville, IA 52162.

Keith was born October 30, 1938 in Postville. He was raised on the family farm in Franklin Township, the third of four sons of the late Otto James Roffman and the late Cecilia L. (Regan) Roffman.

Keith attended Rural Evergreen Country School from Kindergarten until eighth grade. He graduated in 1956 from Postville High School and later enlisted in the United States Army Reserves, serving six-and-a-half years. After his service he farmed with his parents.

In 1965, he married Ronna Hubbartt and adopted her two girls, Brenda and Shelley. Brian Keith was born to this union. They later divorced.

In 1972 he purchased his own farm along the Yellow River in Allamakee County.  Keith’s pride and passion was farming.

January 13, 1984, Keith married Dorothy Betts.  They enjoyed living and working on the farm. In their free time their hobbies included motorcycle riding, tennis, golfing, walking in his timber checking the walnut trees, and playing cards with family and friends.  Keith was a member of the American Legion Post 518, Postville. Later in life Parkinson’s Disease limited his mobility; however, he still found time to follow sports (especially the Iowa Hawkeyes) and loved watching his grandson, Kellen, grow up.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, of Postville; a son, Brian (Kristi) Roffman, and their son Kellen of Decorah; a daughter, Shelley (Gary) Hesla, and their children Brooke (Rob) Lambrose and their daughter Reese, and Brett Hesla of Crown Point, IN; a daughter, Brenda Pervin, and her children, Mandy Snitker of Waukon, Zachary Ullom of La Crosse, WI and John Pervin and his son Jordan of La Crosse, WI; his brother, John (Joellen) Roffman of Iowa City; his sisters-in-law, Laura Mae Roffman of Postville and Georgean Roffman of Sioux City; his step-daughters, Rita Hassett of Lanesboro, MN, Doris (Leigh) Rolfshus of Minneapolis, MN, Susan Betts of Lanesboro, MN, Patricia Vatland of Chewelah, WA, Yvonne Martin of Pleasant Lake, MI and Charlene Draper of Lanesboro, MN; his dearest friends, Jim and Cathy Gelo of Postville; and numerous nieces, nephews and step-grand and great-grandchildren.
