Cancellation of events leaves Friends of Pool 9 with large inventory of merchandise

With the year 2020 being unprecedented and unpredictable in so many aspects, the one thing that has remained constant is the mission of the Friends of Pool 9 (FOP9) organization. Since 2006, Friends of Pool 9 and its over 800 members have worked diligently to preserve the environment  of the Mississippi River within its boundary, educating young and old about this topic and promoting safe and responsible recreational use of the river.

Each year, FOP9 has sponsored activities such as a Mississippi Adventure Day for students, scholarships, spring river clean-up and island tree planting, to name just a few. Most recently, a team of members has been working to create a “no wake” zone that runs the length of the Lansing shore line.

These projects are possible because of the generous donations received throughout the year and sale of FOP9 merchandise at various community events. FOP9 organizers say the contributions continue and are welcome and appreciated, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the opportunities for clothing sales have been eliminated for the organization. In response, FOP9 is offering an opportunity to not only complete some holiday shopping but also to support Friends of Pool 9 and its continued mission with an inventory reduction event taking place now through November 16.

Information on FOP9 merchandise available for sale can be found in the advertisement below, on the FOP9 Facebook page or by calling the contact number listed below. Because this is an inventory reduction sale, not all sizes may be available in listed colors. For more information or to place an order, go to Friends of Pool 9 Facebook page or call Sue at 563-382-9561.
