Waukon girls basketball team extends current victory streak to eight games with home wins over Clayton Ridge and New Hampton, and at Charles City

The Waukon girls basketball team continued its recent winning ways with another undefeated week to its credit, adding three more games to a now eight-game winning streak. That latest string of success began with a 50-28 home win over Clayton Ridge Monday, January 25 before handling New Hampton at home as well, 52-30, Tuesday, January 26. The bucket Tribe wrapped up the week with a 57-36 victory at Charles City Friday, January 29.

Improving to a 13-3 overall record that includes a mark of 8-2 in Northeast Iowa Conference (NEIC) play to sit behind NEIC-undefeated Waverly-Shell Rock, the Waukon basketball girls were scheduled to host Decorah Tuesday, February 2 and travel to Oelwein Friday, February 5 before playing at Waterloo West Saturday, February 6 and then hosting Jesup Tuesday, February 9 to wrap up their regular season schedule. The Lady Indians will then prepare for postseason tournament play, which is scheduled to begin Saturday, February 13 at a site and against an opponent to be determined in the near future.
