Kee girls basketball team wraps up regular season with 38-36 home loss, starts 1A Regional Tournament play with 58-38 triumph at 18-3 Riceville

The Kee girls basketball team wrapped up its regular season and got its postseason underway in opposite directions this past week, ultimately extending its season even further down the postseason road. The Lady Hawks began this past week with a 38-36 loss at home to East Buchanan Monday, February 8 to end their regular season with a loss but got their Class 1A Regional Tournament underway with a convincing win at Riceville, 58-38, Thursday, February 11 to keep their 2020-2021 campaign alive.

Now holding an 11-10 overall record and wrapping up their regular season with a 9-7 mark in Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) play that placed them fourth in the final nine-team UIC standings, the Kee girls were next scheduled to play East Buchanan once again in their  Class 1A Regional Tournament quarterfinals game. That match-up is slated to begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 16 at Central Elkader High School in Elkader, with the winner advancing on to the regional semifinals Friday, February 19 at Turkey Valley to play either the host Trojans or Central City, beginning at 7 p.m.
