The Kee boys basketball team had its 2020-2021 campaign brought to a close by a familiar foe in the opening round of Class 1A District Tournament play when the Hawks traveled to the home of fellow Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) squad Turkey Valley Monday, February 15.

Having earned a split with the Trojans in their two regular season games, this postseason match-up fell more in line with the more recent end of that split, as strong finishes to each half by the host Trojans that limited Kee to single-digit scoring in the second and fourth frames ultimately brought the Hawks’ season to an end by a 60-52 final result.

The loss ends Kee’s season with an even overall mark of 11-11 that included a 9-7 record in the Upper Iowa Conference (UIC), marking the first time since the 2010-2011 season the Hawks posted a winning record in UIC play and placing Kee fifth in the final UIC standings.

Turkey Valley went on to have its season ended in the next round of district tournament play, falling at Edgewood-Colesburg by a 72-52 result in the district semifinals.
