Hairball will rock the Friday grandstand stage at the 2022 Allamakee County Fair
The grandstand at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds in Waukon will be rockin’ like it never has before Friday, July 22, as this year’s grandstand musical act for the Allamakee County Fair will feature one of the most popular arena rock and roll experiences around as its headline performer. The Allamakee County Fair Board has announced that Hairball, the widely sought-after national touring act that brings the glory of ‘80s rock and roll to life, will bring its multi-faceted act to that grandstand stage, returning to Waukon after filling the town’s downtown stoplight intersection with fans during an overnight RAGBRAI stop in 2017.
“The fair board is very excited to bring this high-energy style of entertainment to the Allamakee County Fair,” stated Allamakee County Fair Board leadership. “It’s because of our great fair sponsors, supporters and attendees that we’ve been able to make many recent updates to the fairgrounds. Please mark your calendars July 20-24, 2022 for this year’s Allamakee County Fair.”
While many stage acts put on a concert, Hairball is renowned for putting on an event. The group’s lights, sound, smoke, fire, bombs and spot-on performing of some of the greatest rock and roll hits of the 1980s bring justification to the following biographical claim: “to merely call it a concert would be like calling Mount Rushmore a roadside attraction!”
Headlined by vocalists Joe Dandy, Kris Vox and Dave Moody, Hairball’s performance pays tribute to some of the biggest arena rock and roll acts in the world, such as Van Halen, KISS, Motley Crue, Queen, AC/DC and Aerosmith. As the show progresses, the Hairball stage transforms into an entirely new rock concert countless times throughout the night with performances that will not only bring some in attendance back to their own “glory days” but also light a fire in the younger generations that still enjoy that same hard-driving music of those hairband hard rock years.
Behind those vocalists - who may be hard to differentiate from rock legends themselves like Gene Simmons, Vince Neil, Freddie Mercury or Angus Young - is their supporting cast of HBK on the electric bass, Billy on the drums, and Happy on the lead guitar. Performing hundreds of shows across the country - and doing so for now just over two decades, Hairball isn’t just a tribute band hobby; these guys eat, sleep and breathe rock and roll.
