Letter to the Editor: America: Patriotic and Prophetic Perspectives
To the Editor:
America! America’s Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776, declared this: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men (mankind) are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. That among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Its author, America’s third president, Thomas Jefferson, also wrote, “God who gave us life also gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is a just God, that his justice cannot sleep forever!”
America is the only nation in history to be, as Abraham Lincoln proclaimed in his Gettysburg Address, “conceived in liberty.” Our country was founded on the proposition that the purpose of government is to secure our “unalienable Rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.” Thus, our founding patriots acknowledged the role that God had in the birth of this nation - America!
God inspired our Founding Fathers more than two hundred years ago to look to the duly elected president as the “Commander in Chief.” He might be looked upon as the top general of the United States Armed Forces.
Many years ago, Bob Jones spoke these prophetic words: “When the Kansas City Chiefs win the Super Bowl, it signifies a release of something big in the Spirit.” Some hearers sense that a revival, another great awakening is in that “something big.” Listen to the current events that relate to this prophecy now happening!
1) On Super Bowl Sunday, February 12, 2023, the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35, in a close/great game! The sports commentators before the game were unanimously casting their vote for the Eagles to win. But God had His Plan work out through Coach Reid and the K.C. Chiefs. It was their time on God’s slate of events. The commentators even said the Chiefs played “a perfect second half!”
2) Meanwhile, see what God is doing that fits the prophecy. On Wednesday, February 8, 2023, the news report from Asbury University says, “Revival is breaking out!” This was just days before the Chiefs won! Right after the K.C. Chiefs won, February 13, 2023, the news report reads, “Revival is spreading to campus of Lee University (Cleveland, TN). Our culture is going to be changed!” Also by then, students and parents from more than 21 different colleges had come to be part of the Asbury, KY revival. “It was love that brought people together at Asbury. The fire is spreading.” God is the One who grants revival. America, more than ever, needs reformation, spiritually and politically. Yes, there are many things we can do politically, but that only goes so far. There must be a spiritual revolution - a revival! America was born in a time of revival - even before we were established as a nation. Preacher George Whitfield and others were preaching the gospel and thousands came to Christ. This transformation of people’s lives was the soil that made ready the seeds of this great God-orchestrated experiment that we call America. Now God calls us to join in His big move of the Holy Spirit to bring Revival with Reformation and Reconciliation which will bring forth major change and breakthrough in the Kingdom of God and America. God endorses and works through government. Isaiah 9:6... “and the government shall be upon His shoulders.” Proverbs 14:34... “Righteousness (in government leaders) exalts a nation.” Therein the beliefs and spiritual, Bible-based values of our leaders is critical. Also God’s people in the citizenry must honor God and His Word, II Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people will ... , then I will ... heal their land.” This same God reigns today. The Great I Am is the God of Truth: Truth Will Prevail. He is “I Am God” who does things in his own timing, the God of “turn-around,” the Great Comeback (as demonstrated by the Chiefs), and restoration, is also the God of revival in our land with healing!
Come forth, America! Help has come. America shall be saved! Mighty God will do what He said He would do! Hallelujah!
• Blow the Trumpet!
• His Spirit shall move and reign.
• His Word shall stand and reign.
• His Hand shall touch and reign across the heavens and lives will be transformed.
• God, the Great Commander-in-Chief is Large and In Charge!
• God Wins!! “Checkmate!”
• All Praise and Glory to the Great I Am!
