Public informational meeting March 19 regarding battery energy storage system at former Lansing Generating Station site

Interstate Power and Light Company, Alliant Energy’s Iowa energy company, is proposing to construct a battery energy storage system at the site of the company’s decommissioned Lansing Generating Station in Lansing. The project will be built on land that continues to be owned by Alliant Energy; therefore, no eminent domain will be used for this project.

A public informational meeting regarding the project will be held with the Iowa Utilities Commission Wednesday, March 19 at 12:30 p.m. at the Driftless Area Education and Visitors Center, located at 1944 Columbus Road, Lansing. At the meeting, Interstate Power and Light Company will provide project details, and time will be allotted for answering questions from those attending.

All members of the public are invited to attend the meeting and to file comments with the Iowa Utilities Commission regarding the project. In the event of inclement weather, the informational meeting will be rescheduled for March 24 at the same time and location.
