Home ›Diabetes Support Group to meet September 18 at VMH
The Veterans Memorial Hospital Diabetes Support Group will hold its next meeting Thursday, September 18 at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held at Veterans Memorial Hospital in the Large Conference Room located on the lower level of the hospital.
This month’s topic will be social services. Three different organizations will showcase what they do and what they are able to provide for those who need them. The first guest will be Kim Waters, Patient Navigator at the VMH Waukon Clinic. She will share her role at VMH and how she can be of help with primary care. Jim Johnson of the Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) will remind everyone of the annual fall Medicare open enrollment and the importance of participating to ensure the best Medicare plan to fit each individual’s needs and is most affordable. Lastly, Rebecca Hawes from the Allamakee Relief Office will explain how they can help with financial hardships for those who qualify as well as other forms of assistance for local community members.
