Alyssa Verthein and Andrew Hill of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Kynlee Kay Hill, born April 27, 2018 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. 10 ozs. and measured 19 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a sister, Aria (4).

Grandparents are Mark and Mary Verthein and Barb and Marvin Hill, all of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Wilma Verthein of Waukon and Wesley Winters of Waukon.
 

Courtney Lough and Marc Otting, both of Waukon, wish to announce their engagement and wedding to take place May 12, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church in Lansing. A reception will be held at 5 p.m. at the Waukon Banquet Center with a dance to follow at 8 p.m.

Parents of the bride-to-be are Chris and Kimberly (Lough) Wilhelm of Decorah. Parents of the groom-to-be are Pat and Jane Otting of Waukon.

The bride-to-be is a 2012 graduate of Decorah High School and a 2015 graduate of Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) in Calmar in the Nursing program. She is employed full-time at Gundersen Health System and on an as-needed basis with the Good Samaritan Society in Waukon.

The groom-to-be is a 2012 graduate of Waukon High School and a 2014 graduate of NICC’s Automotive Technology program. He is employed full-time with his family’s business, Culligan Water Conditioning in Waukon.
 

Norman and Iona Reeves  of Lansing are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. The couple was married May 2, 1948 in Lansing.

They are the parents of three children, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Katie and John Hackman of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Brady George Hackman, born April 23, 2018 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9 lbs. 11 ozs. and measured 23 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a brother, Noah (2).

Grandparents are David and Terri Kleinow of Harpers Ferry and Mark and Bonnie Hackman of Decorah.
 

Brady and Trish Iverson of Luana announce the birth of their daughter, Jewel Joan Iverson, born April 23, 2018 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs. 11 ozs. and measured 22-1/4 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins sisters, Stella (4) and Ivy (2).

Grandparents are Mike and Gwen Lloyd of Harpers Ferry, Lyle and Brenda Kurth of Luana and Craig and Janet Iverson of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Gilbert and Jean Kurth and Janice Winter, all of Waukon.
 

Brian and Sandi Drew of Waukon, parents of the bride-to-be, and Roger and Julie Lanning of Creston, parents of the groom-to-be, announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of Cassandra Drew of Waukon and Eric Lanning of Creston. They will exchange vows May 12 at St. Patrick Church in Waukon with a reception and dance at Nob Hill in Decorah. The couple will honeymoon in Aruba.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Waukon High School, has graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology from Drake University in Des Moines and will be graduating from Des Moines University with a doctoral degree in Osteopathic Medicine in May 2018. She will be taking part in the Family Medicine Residency Program at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI for the next three years.

Glen and Eloise (Mathis) Reed of Lansing are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple was married January 20, 1968 at St. Joseph’s Paint Rock Catholic Church, Harpers Ferry.

They are the parents of David (Juana Nakfour) of Hawthorn Woods, IL, Michele (Kim Pansegrau) of Verona, WI, Kim (Chris Evers) of Cedar Rapids and Kristy (Sam Mount) of Decorah. Grandchildren include Michael and Carina Reed, Elizabeth, Lauren and Meredith Pansegrau, Carson and Cooper Schenk, Ellie Evers, and Owen and Olivia Mount.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration hosted by the couple’s children and grandchildren at TJ Hunter’s on Main Street in Lansing Saturday, April 28 at 5:30 p.m. The couple requests no gifts.

The Waukon High School Class of 1961will meet April 27 at 11:30 a.m. at Gus & Tony’s in Waukon. All classmates are welcome to attend.
