Evan and Danielle Schulte of Tiffin announce the birth of their daughter, June Marie Schulte, born October 26, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. She weighed 9 lbs. 14 ozs. and measured 22 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a big sister, Violet (2-1/2).

Grandparents are Jenette and Keith Schulte of Dorchester and Laura and Mike Pitlick of Iowa City. Great-grandparents are Bill and Franny Byrnes of Waukon and Marilyn and Morrie Pitlick of Iowa City.

Ethan and “Auny” Andrea Pole of Decorah announce the birth of their daughter, Ingrid Doris Pole, born November 5, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 9 lbs. 10 ozs. and measured 22 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings, Stella (9), Gus (7), Eloise (4) and Oletta (2).

Grandparents are John Jr. and Karen Kerndt of Decorah and Brad and Rhonda Pole of Des Moines. Great-grandparents are John Sr. and Lorna Kerndt of Waukon.

Gary and Marlene Houg of Waukon will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary November 12. The couple was married November 12, 1957 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Luana.

A celebration and dance at the Vet’s Club in Waukon will be held with the Buck Hollow Band performing Sunday, November 12 from 2-5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

They are the parents of Wade (Barb) Houg of Plymouth, MN, Lori (Mark) Farley of Cedar Falls, Scott (Brenda) Houg of Waukon and Jeff Houg (deceased, 1989). The couple also has 10 grandchildren.

Anne and Brett Scheetz of Spring Grove, MN announce the birth of their daughter, Luka Rose Scheetz, born October 29, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. 15 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings, Emmett (4) and Audrey (2).

Grandparents are Chuck and Audrey Ellingson of Caledonia, MN and Dan and Patty Scheetz of Cosgrove.

Emily Byrnes and Josh Waters of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Kaylie Louise Waters, born October 30, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs. 11 ozs. and measured 23-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings, James Waters (3) and Jorden Funk (4).

Grandparents are Breigha Funk of Colesburg, Loran Waters of Waukon and the late Kelly Deeney. Great-grandparents are the late Earl Waters, Iris Waters and Sandy and Bob McCoy, all of Waukon.

Aubrie Lenz and Patrick Monroe announce their engagement and upcoming wedding to take place November 18, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon with a reception to be held at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds Pavilion in Waukon.

Parents of the bride-to-be are Darren and Angie Burroughs of Rossville, Heather Lenz of New Albin and Paul Lenz of Lansing. She is a 2011 Home School graduate and a 2014 graduate of Minnesota State Colleges - Southeast Technical with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She currently owns and operates Farmhouse Childcare in Waukon.

Parents of the groom-to-be are Manley “Michael” and Suzanne Monroe of Postville. He is a 2001 graduate of John R. Mott High School in Postville and a 2003 graduate of Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) in Calmar with an Associate of Applied Science degree through the John Deere Tech program. He is currently employed as a technician at Bodensteiner Implement in Waukon.

Jon Thorstenson of Decorah and Serene Thorstenson of Shanghai, P.R. China announce the birth of their daughter, Elsa Sophia Thorstenson, born October 13, 2017 in Shanghai. She weighed 9 lbs. 3.3 ozs. and measured 20-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Grandparents are Virgil and Debbie Thorstenson of Waukon and Zhao Rongqiang and Gu Chengying of Shanghai.

Kevin and Stephanie Gordon of Evansdale announce the birth of their son, Archer Lee Gordon, born September 6, 2017 at Unity Point Allen Hospital in Waterloo. He weighed 8 lbs. 8.7 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Grandparents are David and Connie Gordon of Waukon, Mark and Deb Rush of Hampton and David and Julie Twedt of Eldora. Great-grandparents are Herbert Halvorson and the late Mary Lou Halvorson of Waukon, Ervin and Sharon Gordon of Waukon, Jim and Judy Meyer of Geneva, Jerry and Martha Fredericksen of Ackley and Carolyn Twedt of Eldora.
 

Kelly and James Bucher of Ankeny announce the birth of their daughter, Vivian Kay Bucher, born October 9, 2017 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. She weighed 8 lbs. and measured 19 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins sisters, Anna (4) and Grace (4).

Grandparents are Don and Connie Nagel of Waukon and Joyce and the late Elden Bucher of Ankeny.
 

Kevin and Trish Martin of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Mason Edwin Martin, born October 23, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 6 lbs. 5 ozs. and measured 20-1/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins sisters, Brooklyn (8) and Alexis (6).

Grandparents are Walter and Peggy Martin of Waukon and Lorraine and Linda Kalke of Decorah. Betty Lundt of Decorah is a great-grandparent.
