Paul and Danielle Bakewell of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Cooper James Bakewell, born May 23, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs. and measured 21-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a big sister, Ella (2).

Grandparents are Jim and Joyce Bakewell of Ossian and Les and JoAnn Lang of Monona. Great-grandparents are Joan Schissel of Ossian and Mercedes Lang of Wauzeka, WI.

Jeffrey Bunts and Shelby Shupe of Prairie du Chien, WI announce the birth of their son, Owen Lee Bunts, born May 24, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9 lbs. 10 ozs. and measured 22-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a big brother, Jaxsyn Bunts (2).

Grandparents are Jason and Buffy McGeough of Harpers Ferry and Kerry and Joan Bunts of Prairie du Chien, WI. Great-grandparents are Pat and Deb McGeough of Waukon, Darlyene and I.J. Peterson of Harpers Ferry, Paulette Holiday of Prairie du Chien, WI and Sandy Bunts of Prairie du Chien, WI.
 

Blair and Jessica Everman of Postville announce the birth of their daughter, Rosalie Kay Everman, born May 27, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs. 12 ozs. and measured 19-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a sibling, Weston (2-1/2).

Grandparents are Hall and Denise Everman of Postville, Beth and Terry Fitzpatrick of Waukon and Bobby Ryan of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Glenn Bunge of Eitzen, MN, Marjorie Schrader of Monona, Jean Smock of Brownsville, MN and Ramona Everman of Postville.

Dan and Lacy Lloyd of Harpers Ferry announce the birth of their daughter, Carlei Ann Lloyd, born May 30, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings, Cashton (9), Caidee (8) and Cael (5).

Grandparents are Jim and Sue O’Neill of Waukon and Mike and Gwen Lloyd of Harpers Ferry. Great-grandparents are Eleanor O’Neill, Janice Winter and Penny Marti, all of Waukon.

Jim and Julie Halverson of Monona will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary June 11. Jim Halverson and Julie Miene were married June 11, 1966 at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon.

The Halversons have three children: Jackie Halverson (Randy Nesbit) of Waukon, Jodie (Glenn) Manning of Waukon and Jon (Elizabeth) Halverson of Monona. They are blessed with eight grandchildren, Brandon (Abby) Bublitz, Breanna Bublitz (Justin Sommer), Hope, Makayla, Sabrina and Whitney Manning, and Hayden and Hailey Halverson.

Michael Ryan Whalen and Emily Margaret Bohr were married June 4, 2016 at St. Francis De Sales in Ossian.

The bride is the daughter of Darryl and Irene Bohr of Ossian and is a graduate of South Winneshiek High School. She earned an Office Technology with Medical Emphasis Diploma from NICC and is employed as an optician with Shopko Optical in Mason City.

The groom is the son of Tom and Laurie Whalen of Dawsonville, GA and is a graduate of Dawson County High School in Dawsonville, GA. He earned  a Business Specialist AAS and Business Administration AS Degree from NICC.

The bride was given away by her father, Darryl Bohr. Erica Bohr was the Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids included the bride’s sisters, Elizabeth Elsbernd and Evelyn Bohr, and her cousin, Cassie Michel. The flower girl was Jolee Brummond.

Shane and Liz Murphy of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Miles Donald Murphy, born May 23, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 7 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Grandparents are Tom and Angela Weighner of Dorchester and Randy and Lisa Murphy of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Clair and Cathy Wagner of Lansing.

Blaize Cota and Trina Bloxham of Dorchester announce the birth of their son, Lukas Richard Cota, born May 5, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 5 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings Jaxon (4), Braxton (3) and Tila (3).

Grandparents are Brad and Vicki Bloxham and Brian and Karen Cota. Great-grandparents are Rich and June Cota, Mary Johnson, and Richard and Edith Bloxham.

Dakota Ness and Brittany Johnson of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Kenleigh Anne Ness, born May 19, 2016 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs. 9 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Grandparents are Scott and Karen Ness of Waterville and Rob and Lynn Johnson of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Sigurd and Barb Ness of Waukon, Mary and  the late Rodney “Occo” Fink of Waukon, Wayne and Bonnie Johnson of Waukon,  and Robert and Gloria Hanson of Waukon.
