Bulman Reunion set for July 16 in Eitzen, MN

The 62nd annual reunion of the Bulman, Hartley, Sadler and Beardmore families will be Sunday, July 16 at the Community Center in Eitzen, MN. A potluck meal will be served at 12:30 p.m. with a meeting to follow.

The five Bulman ancestors who came to America from Little Thetford, England in the 1850s were Thomas, George, William, John and their sister, Mary Bulman Sadler. All descendants of these early settlers are cordially invited to attend this reunion meal. Beverages will be provided. Those planning to attend are asked to bring their own table service, family pictures and stories to share.

A Sunday morning church service will be held at the “home church,” Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church, rural New Albin at 9 a.m.

Carolyn “Kay” Adam celebrated her 80th birthday June 11. In honor of the occasion, a celebration and open house is scheduled for Saturday, July 15 from 1-4 p.m. at the Farm Bureau building at 14 First Avenue NE in Waukon.

Join Kay for cake and coffee and to wish her well during her birthday celebration. For those not able to attend, cards and well wishes may be sent to 923 Second Street NW, Waukon IA 52172.

Colsch Family Reunion and History Day Saturday

The Colsch Family Reunion and History Day is scheduled for this Saturday, July 8 from Noon-5 p.m. at the New Albin Community Center. Descendants of Nicholas and Charlotte (Theobald) Colsch are invited.

Sloppy Joes, buns, silverware, plates, napkins, coffee and bottled water will be provided. Those attending are asked to bring a salad, vegetables, dessert, chips or beverages to share.

Old family photos and scrapbooks will be available for viewing. A slideshow presentation of family history will also be shown during the reunion.

Mike and Cindy Gibbs of Waterville will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this Friday, June 30. Mike Gibbs and Cindy Bushman exchanged vows June 30, 1973 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Clermont.

Their children include Shawn (Danette) Gibbs of Waterville, Chris (Kerri) Gibbs of Waterville, Angie (Bob) Mettille of Waterville, and David (Angela) Gibbs of Waukon. The couple also has fifteen grandchildren.

The couple plans to celebrate with their children and grandchildren. In honor of the occasion, cards and well wishes may be sent to 1698 Elon Drive, Waterville, IA 52170.

Dakota and Becca Haefele of Postville announce the birth of their daughter, Spencer Kay Haefele, born June 16, 2023 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs. and measured 19 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings, Seth Lloyd (16) and Sienna Haefele (2).

Grandparents are Pat and JoAnne Haefele of Portage, WI and Rob and Shannon Lloyd of Harpers Ferry. Great-grandparents are Keith and Dianne Tebbe of Milwaukee, WI, Erlyss Reckard of Monona, Ernie and Pat Burroughs of Waukon and Mary Westemeier of Dickeyville, WI.

James and Kelli Melcher of Harpers Ferry announce the birth of their daughter, Miley Lynn Melcher, born June 10, 2023 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. 14 ozs. and measured 19-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins brothers, Declan (5) and Dayton (2).
