Brennan and Audrey Sweeney of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Liam Sweeney, born June 16, 2025 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 10 ozs. and measured 19-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Grandparents are Mike and Shawna Sweeney of Waukon and Aaron and Cindy Whitaker of Bettendorf. Great-grandparents are Mick and Linda Sweeney of Waukon, Jim and Susan Whitaker of Burlington, Jack and Sally Broeg of Burlington, Debi Peterson of Waukon, and Doug Ahlstrom of Waukon. Great-great-grandparents are Ozzie and Phyllis Quandahl of Waukon, Doris VanWinkle of Burlington, and Jane Whitaker of Brighton.

Don and Dorothy Hitchins married June 18, 1955 at St. Pius Catholic Church in rural Harpers Ferry. In honor of their 70th wedding anniversary, family and friends are invited to a celebration scheduled for Sunday, June 15 from 1-4 p.m. at the Hatchery at Riverside Park, 410 East Veterans Memorial Drive, La Crosse, WI 54601. No gifts are requested.

Shawn and Morgan Buckland of Spring Grove, MN announce the birth of their son, Brycen Leo Buckland, born May 30, 2025 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9 lbs. 8 ozs. and measured 19-3/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins brothers, Brecken (7), Barrett (5), Bentley (3) and Beckett.

He weighed 7 lbs. 2 ozs. and measured 19-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins sisters, Lorelai (5) and Leighton (3).

Lauren Elliott and Tristan Hansmeier of Harpers Ferry announce the birth of their son, Harrison James Hansmeier, born May 16, 2025 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Grandparents are John and Shelly Elliott and Dave and Bobbi Hansmeier, all of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Richard Elliott of Harpers Ferry, Frank and Mary Regan of Waukon, Pat Hansmeier of Waukon, and Curt and Vicki Welch of McGregor.

Grace and Reese Reisinger of Waterville announce the birth of their son, Chet Patrick Reisinger, born May 16, 2025 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 6 lbs. 8 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a sister, Josie Reisinger (2).

Grandparents are Steph and Ron Liddiard of Mabel, MN, Pat and Tara Reisinger of Waterville and Ryan Solberg of Spring Grove, MN. Great-grandparents are Linda Thompson of Waterville, Patty and Jerry Reisinger of Quasqueton, Debbie Heldt of Sumner, Genette and Arlie Halverson of Mabel, MN, Gary and Vernee Dahlberg of Hesper and Tom Solberg of Spring Grove.

Gerald and Linda (McCormick) Henkes of McGregor are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. The couple married May 21, 1955 at St. Pius Catholic Church, Cherry Mound in rural Harpers Ferry.

Their children are Marci (David) Strutt of West Des Moines, Kim (Deborah) Henkes of McGregor, Kari (Don) Ruff of McGregor, Kevin (Amy) Henkes of Gouldsboro, PA and Randy (Ruth) Henkes of San Antonio, TX. Their family also includes 12 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Members of the Waukon High School Class of 1965 will celebrate their 60-year reunion Thursday, May 22 at Empty Nest Winery, located at 1352 Apple Road in rural Waukon. The event will begin with a gathering at 10:30 a.m. followed by lunch at 12:30 p.m.

Austin and Jacqueline Callahan of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Palmer Dale Callahan, born May 7, 2025 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz. and measured 22 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a sister, Chayce (18 months).
