Kim and Justin Johnson of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Everly Joy Johnson, born August 30, 2018 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz. and measured 20-1/4 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings, Ava (11) and Greyson (5).

Grandparents are Chris and Tim Anthony, Mark Miller, and Kay and Virgil Johnson, all of Waukon. Virginia Roe of Waukon is a great-grandparent.

Len and Joan Bruce, who began their teaching careers in Waukon in 1968, will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception to be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport Sunday, September 9 from 2-4 p.m.

The couple was married July 13, 1968 in Janesville, WI and taught in Waukon until 1981, when Len accepted an administrative position. They are both retired now, Joan from Pleasant Valley High School in Bettendorf  and Len from Camanche High School in Camanche.
 

The family of Helen Olson will be hosting an open house in celebration of her 90th birthday Sunday, September 9, from 2-4 p.m. The open house will be held in the multi-purpose room of the Barthell Eastern Star Assisted Living facility located at 911 Ridgewood Drive, Decorah.

Everyone is invited to attend. The family requests no gifts.
 

Lavon Martins, formerly of Postville, will be celebrating her 90th birthday September 4, 2018.

The Jarchow Family Reunion is scheduled for Sunday, September 9 at the Methodist Church, one block north of the bank, in Hawkeye. All relatives and siblings of Wilhelm/William Jarchow, Sr. are welcome to attend. A potluck dinner is planned at noon with a meeting to follow and time for visiting and family stories.

Dan and Lacy Lloyd of Harpers Ferry announce the birth of their daughter, Cami Irene Lloyd, born August 24, 2018 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs. 6 ozs. and measured 21-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings, Cashton (12), Caidee (10), Cael (7) and Carlei (2).

Grandparents are Jim and Sue O’Neill of Waukon and Mike and Gwen Lloyd of Harpers Ferry. Great-grandparents are Eleanor O’Neill, Janice Winter and Penny Marti, all of Waukon.

Eric and Jasmine Christensen of Waterville announce the birth of their son, Shayne Christensen, born August 25, 2018 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs. 3.4 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a brother, Adrick (8).

Grandparents are Arnie and Sherri Onsager of Waukon, Robin Christensen of Dorchester and Layne Christensen of Decorah. Betty Christensen of Decorah is a great-grandparent.

Kent and Rhonda Stock of Waukon and Bob and Jeri Rethamel of Fredericksburg announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their children, McKayla Stock and Clinton Rethamel, to take place Saturday, September 1 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon. Following the wedding ceremony, a reception and dance will take place at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds Pavilion in Waukon.

The bride-to-be is a 2014 graduate of Waukon High School, a 2016 graduate of Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) in Calmar with an Associates Degree in Nursing and a 2018 graduate of Upper Iowa University in Fayette with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. She is currently employed as a Registered Nurse at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

The groom-to-be is a 2010 graduate of Sumner-Fredericksburg High School and is currently employed as an Assistant Manager of Fareway Food Stores in Rochester, MN.
