The Waukon girls basketball team ended up playing just one game this past week, as Mother Nature claimed the Indians’ second contest of the week, a Thursday, January 8 home game with MFL/MarMac now postponed until January 29 due to winter weather. In its single game this past week the Tribe suffered a 74-44 loss at Class 3A eighth-rated Crestwood. Falling to a 2-7 overall record, 1-4 in the Northeast Iowa Conference, the Indians were next scheduled to play back-to-back nights, at North Fayette Valley Monday, January 12 and at home against Oelwein Tuesday, January 13, before traveling to Class 4A sixth-rated Waverly-Shell Rock Friday, January 16. The Indians will then host Charles City Tuesday, January 20 before playing at Decorah Friday, January 23.
