Ron and Susan (Decker) Troendle of Waukon will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. The couple married August 2, 1986.

Their children and family include Nick Troendle (Chelsea Winter) and Ted and Kori Troendle. Grandchildren include Ryan, Lindy, Tierney, Juniper and Ava Troendle.

The couple’s 40th wedding anniversary celebration will take place Saturday, August 8 from 2-11 p.m. at The Shed, 303 Burgess Street, Luana, IA 52156.

Marilyn Hamm of Waukon will be celebrating her 90th birthday August 9.

The 66th Bulman Reunion was held July 19 at the Eitzen Community Center. About 47 people were in attendance, plus a few kids on the playground. Organizers were Grace Bulman and Deb Harguth. The meeting was led by Vicki Bulman Roeske. Collection for the day was $277, with a balance of $374.51 after the rent and paper were paid.

Jenny Sward attended for the first time and received a door prize along with Kate Bulman for driving furthest from Illinois, and Grace Bulman for being the oldest.

Vicki Bulman Roeske agreed to be the new president, LeeAnne Bulman will continue as secretary, Laina Ford as historian and Lori Hover as treasurer.

Photos were on display as well as the story of the tragic deaths of 1919: Joseph Hartley and his son, John, Alice, Mable, and Ben Bulman, Rev. Robert Paden, and Nellie Bulman Weymiller.

Harley and Jaedyn O’Hare of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Jovie Lou O’Hare, born July 27, 2026 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs. 9 ozs. and measured 18 inches in length at the time of her birth. Grandparents are Craig and Barb Lensing and Brad and Susan O’Hare, all of Waukon.

Shannon Christensen and Tyler O’Neill of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Mia Patrice O’Neill, born June 25, 2026 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. 10 ozs. and measured 18 inches in length at birth. She joins siblings, Adrick (16) and Maryah (8).
 

Riley and Patricia Bennis of Harpers Ferry announce the birth of their son, Grant Scott Bennis, born July 7, 2026 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 6 lbs. 13 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a brother, Benjamin Bennis (2).

Grandparents are Scott and Barb Melcher of Harpers Ferry and Jeff and Deb Bennis of Arizona. Great-grandparents are Zenalou Bennis of Minnetonka, MN and Marlene Dittell of Arizona.

Jacob and Myriah Dougherty of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Sylvie Kathryn Dougherty, born July 8, 2026 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs. 15 ozs. and measured 19 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a sister, Elsie (2-1/2).

Grandparents are Dave and Brenda Dougherty of Waukon and Lee Groth of Decorah. Great-grandparents are Al and Connie Leiran, Janice Dougherty, and Joan Moody, all of Waukon, and Duane and Shirley Groth of Decorah.

Dayton and Catherine (Katey) (McGeough) Jones of Harpers Ferry are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary with a card shower. The couple married July 7, 1956 at St. Pius Cherry Mound Church in Harpers Ferry.
