Kee boys track team finishes seventh at Waukon Early Bird

Kee boys track junior Logan Flack gets off to a good pace in the 800 meter run at the Waukon Early Bird Invitational Thursday, April 2. Flack scored Kee’s only points at the meet with what turned out to be a fourth-place finish in the event for team-scoring purposes. He actually finished fifth overall in the race with a time of 2:30.23, but Dubuque Hempstead had three runners finish within the top four placewinnings of the race, and teams are only allowed two competitors for team-scoring purposes, leaving Flack with fourth-place points for the Hawks.

The Kee boys track team competed outdoors for the first time this 2015 season, taking part in the seven-team Early Bird Invitational at Waukon Thursday, April 2. The Hawks tallied a total of four points at the meet to end up seventh in the final team standings that included squads from the Class 3A and Class 4A ranks.
The Hawks were also scheduled to compete at the North Fayette Valley Invitational in West Union Tuesday, March 31 but had that meet canceled due to weather and facility conditions.
Kee is scheduled for a busy week’s worth of competition with three meets slated within the next seven days, beginning with a Tuesday, April 7 competition hosted by Edgewood-Colesburg before taking part in the Postville Invitational Thursday, April 9. The Hawks are then slated to compete at the West Central Invitational being held at Oelwein High School Monday, April 13.
