Kee baseball team wraps up regular season with two wins in busy, six-game slate

The Kee baseball team wrapped up its 2015 regular season with a pair of wins in a busy week of six games this past week, finishing the season with an overall record of 11-21 that includes a mark of 6-10 that placed the Hawks sixth in the final nine-team Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) standings. The Kee baseballers opened their week by having a Monday, July 6 UIC doubleheader at Edgewood-Colesburg postponed by rain to create a very busy Tuesday, July 7, where the Hawks fell at Edgewood-Colesburg by narrow margins of 2-1 and 3-1 before traveling to Wapsie Valley later that same evening and pulling out an 11-10 victory. Kee then had a late rally fall short in a 10-8 loss at Nashua-Plainfield Wednesday, July 8 before wrapping up its regular season with a split at home against Riceville Friday, July 10 that included a 1-0 triumph and a 9-3 loss.
The Hawks were scheduled to begin postseason tournament play Tuesday, July 14 at Jesup against Wapsie Valley in a game scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
