Local authorities involved in Postville arrest of Waterloo robbery suspects

Local law enforcement officials were involved in the location and arrest of six male suspects at the Pines Motel in Postville Wednesday, September 16 in connection with an armed robbery in Waterloo. The previous day, Tuesday, September 15, the Waterloo Police Department responded to a 911 call of an armed robbery that occurred at the I-Wireless cellular store, located at 1523 San Marnan Drive in Waterloo.
Two male suspects had allegedly entered the business at gunpoint and ordered the employee to a backroom. The suspects then stole an undisclosed amount of cash and cellular telephones. Witnesses observed the suspects exiting the business with the stolen items and fleeing the area in a silver SUV. The employee was not injured during the robbery.
As a result of the investigation following the robbery, a suspect vehicle was located in the parking lot of the Pines Motel in Postville Wednesday morning, September 16. The Waterloo Police Department requested assistance of the Iowa State Patrol Tactical Team to execute a search warrant of the motel room occupied by the armed suspects. Six suspects were taken into custody without incident. The following six suspects have been charged in Black Hawk County District Court for the following crimes:
• Roosevelt Brown, age 20, of Harvey, IL, Robbery 1st Degree.
• James Harden, age 29, of Markham, IL, Robbery 1st Degree.
• Don N. Redmond, age 29, of Harvey, IL, Robbery 1st Degree.
• Jeffrey A. Kemp, age 39, of Chicago, IL, Robbery 1st Degree.
• Lawerence D. Adkinson, age 27, of Hazel Crest, IL, Robbery 1st Degree.
• Dominique Walker, age 22, of Harvey, IL, Accessory After the Fact-Robbery 1st Degree, and Theft 3rd Degree.
All the suspects were initially held at the Clayton County Sheriff’s Department. The Waterloo Police Department was assisted throughout the incident by the Iowa State Patrol, Iowa State Patrol Tactical Team, Iowa State Patrol Negotiators, Allamakee County Sheriff’s Department, Clayton County Sheriff’s Department, Postville Police Department, Postville Fire and EMS, Cresco Police Department and the Waukon Police Department.
