Fumigation course is set for November 17

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Allamakee County office will host a Fumigation Continuing Instruction Course (CIC) for commercial and private fumigant pesticide applicators Tuesday, November 17. The program is offered at office locations across Iowa through the ISU Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP).
The local attendance site for the November 17 CIC is the Allamakee County Extension Office located at 21 Allamakee Street in Waukon. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by sessions from 9 to 11 a.m. To register or to obtain additional information about the CIC, contact the ISU Extension and Outreach Allamakee County office at 563-568-6345.
The course will provide continuing instruction credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 7C (Fumigation) and 10 (Research and Demonstration) and private pesticide applicators who are certified to apply fumigants. The course will cover topics including equipment calibration and safe application techniques; pests, pest management and pesticides; and reduction of off-target movement of pesticides.
