Letter to the Editor: What we must do to get our country back

To the Editor:
I guess we will all agree that our country is in very bad shape, near financial bankruptcy and for sure morally bankrupt. We need our next president and his people to be true Christian. It’s an almost impossible job, but it can be done with the right leadership.
What our Congress has done - both sides of the aisle - is terrible. In overseas countries they would be arrested, imprisoned and sometimes executed.
Here is a list of things that must be done to get our country back:
Eliminate lobbyists; Every new law stands or falls on its own, no amendments; Term limits, the old line Republicans and Democrats would never allow term limits - a greedy bunch; A balanced budget amendment; Really clamp down on illicit drugs - severe and fast punishment to all drug dealers; Eliminate all special benefits and perks; Overhaul the welfare system so it is sustainable; The VA hospitals, post offices, Amtrak and Planned Parenthood are all very poorly managed; Borders must be secure; Department of Education needs a real overhauling; Allow the Bible, the Ten Commandments and God back in the schools as a local option - the day the liberals forbid God, the Bible and the Ten Commandments in our schools, the devil walked in; Tax reform - cut the 7,300-page tax law to one page, keep it simple; Social “insecurity” needs to be sustainable; EPA needs to be reined in; Undo Common Core; Undo sanctuary cities; Do away with Daylight “Wasting” Time; Undo the law that denies church leaders from participating in politics or they lose their tax exemption.
In order to accomplish all the aforementioned items, our next president needs a great and honest support group. They must be picked very carefully. The new president must try to accomplish all of the above. He or she must put America first with a strong military and will need our prayers and support. Warning, whoever becomes our new leader, I hope you know what is expected of you.
Kindest regards
and God Bless,

P.S. We attended the caucus Monday night. Big crowd, maybe 500 people, and Mark Kerndt did an excellent job.
