Lori "Lulu" Heitman-Blanchard

Lori “Lulu” J. Heitman-Blanchard, 54, of La Crosse, WI passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 9, 2016 at her home. Memorial services were held Saturday, July 16 at Trinity Lutheran Church, La Crosse, WI, with Pastor Erik Freig officiating.

Lori was born November 22, 1961 in La Crosse, WI to Elmer and Gladys (Meyer) Heitman. Lori was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s United Church of Christ (Wheatland Church), rural New Albin. She was a graduate of Waukon High School in Waukon and also attended Western Technical College in La Crosse, WI for two years.

September 17, 2005, she married Todd Blanchard at St. John’s U.C.C., Wheatland. Lori worked in the restaurant business for 18 years, which included managing Amelia’s in the La Crosse Airport. She then worked at Menards in La Crosse for 15 years. After Lori moved to La Crosse, she enjoyed playing softball and pool in local leagues. She also enjoyed gardening, spending time on the river, and her true passion, cooking.

Survivors include her husband, Todd, of La Crosse, WI; her two special babies - her dogs, Gus and Gabby; her mother, Gladys Heitman of New Albin; her sister, Darlene (David) Eggum of La Crosse, WI; three brothers, Alan (Lori) Heitman of New Albin, Jack Heitman (fiancée Barb) of Peoria, IL and David (Janette) Heitman of Lansing; two step-daughters, Jenny (Josh) Marler and their sons, Owen and Andrew, all of Rapid City, SD, and Beth (Matt) Schaus and their son, Carsten, all of De Forest, WI; and many nieces and nephews. Lori was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Heitman; and her sister, Carolyn Aitchison.
