The Fourth Commandment

To the Editor:

Remember to keep the Sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God has commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all thy work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God. Exodus 20:8-10 and Deuteronomy 5:12-14. There is more to this, the fourth of the Ten Commandments.

The word sabbath means rest. Remember back in the Book of Genesis, chapter 2, verse 3. Yahshua had worked for six days, and then on the seventh day He rested. He then blessed the day seven, and then He sanctified it. To bless is to make holy, bestow happiness, a gift, to guard, protect. To sanctify means to set apart, to make holy, to purify. He obeyed His own commandment. Look at a calendar, the seventh day is Saturday, not Sunday.

There are some religious organizations who teach that the Old Testament was hung on the cross with Yahshua. If that were true, then why do any of us gather once a week to worship. As I understand that teaching, the above doesn’t exist, Yahshua wouldn’t have been born and when we die it’s all over, period. That makes our God, Yahweh, a liar, which He is not, and He does exist.

The seventh day Sabbath is mentioned 160 times in the Old Testament and 60 times in the New Testament. These numbers are rounded off because newer versions are leaving some verses out. There is no place in the Bible anywhere by anybody to change the seventh day Sabbath to the first day of the week, or Sunday.

The Catholic religion says they have the authority to do that. Who gave them that permission? They have never said who did. Constantine, the Emperor of Rome, in an effort to convert the heathen nations to Christianity, changed the seventh day to the first day to pacify them. The Catholic papacy grabbed and ran with it.

Along came Martin Luther, Protestantism started and followed the Catholic tradition, and has been falling to much sun worship ever since.

Not obeying the fourth commandment is a sin. If we disobey one commandment, all are disobeyed. Yahshua said to Luke 6:46, “Why do you call me Lord, but do not do the things I say?”

Disobedience of the seventh day Sabbath is deadly business. Prime example, Numbers 15:32. A man went out to get some sticks. He was caught, taken to Moses, and Moses went to God, who told Moses to have the congregation stone him. Kings have lost their thrones because they have not obeyed the commandments.

The United States is going to be destroyed because of our sins with no repentance; the fourth commandment and the rest of them. Abortion; those babies belong to Yahweh, they are on loan to us, train them in His way. Homosexuality. The Catholic church took the second commandment out, threw it away, and moved the fourth commandment into third place. To make sure they had 10, they split number nine, half to number nine and the other half to number 10.

The Book of Revelation chapter 12, verses 18 and 19 say no words are to be taken from the Bible or added to it or they will suffer from great plagues and have their names blotted out of the book of life and other horrors.

The Moslems are taking over our country; recently in St. Cloud, MN and Orlando, FL. Tremendous rain storms resulting in tremendous flooding. Yahweh has His hand of protection off of this country and is allowing Satan to do as he wants. Read the book of Job. He was tested. It is going to get a lot worse.

Second Chronicles 7:14: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

I ask of you business owners, set a precedent. Close your businesses Friday night sundown to Saturday night sundown, and be back in business Sunday morning all day. If it is spiritual with a worldly flavor, or if it is worldly with a spiritual flavor, it is a stench in Yahweh’s nostrils.
